Class Assistants / Team Leaders (Golf experience not necessary – life experience is)
This position is the life blood of our organization. The bond that our young participants form with their team leaders helps ensure their continued success as they progress through the program. If you have the desire to help young people succeed and can commit a minimum of 2 hours, one day per week for 6-8 weeks, then I encourage you to strongly consider this position. The rewards are endless.
You can view the session schedules on our web-site and this will give you an idea of how much time is needed. Team Leaders are assigned 4-somes which helps ensure that our students receive the individual attention they deserve as well as build continuity within the program. The spring and summer sessions are one class per week for 8 weeks with the fall session being 6 weeks. No matter what your skills in golf, you can make a difference.
Every team leader or class assistant working with the children is required to purchase a First Tee chapter shirt, attend coach training sessions throughout the year and submit to a back ground check. These are very small hurdles when you think about what you will be providing a child. You will be helping them acquire valuable life skills and core values as well as a good golf swing.
